Latest Update:

Hurricane Maria has left 3.5 million people in Puerto Rico without power, the mayor of San Juan said it could be 4-6 months before it's restored. Your help can make a difference!

Millions are still in desperate need of food, water, medical equipment, and other forms of immediate relief! Please donate what you can and share this with others to help raise awareness.

The Worst Hurricane In Decades

Hurricane Irma is a potentially catastrophic category 5 hurricane that will bring life-threatening wind storm surge, and rainfall hazards to areas including the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, the southeastern Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos, and portions of Haiti.

Many of these areas are still badly damaged from prior tragedies leaving them extremely vulnerable for potential devastation by the impact of these hurricanes, including:

  • Dominican Republic
  • Haiti
  • Cuba
  • Puerto Rico
  • Bahamas
  • Turks and Caicos
  • Barbuda
  • Antigua
  • St. Martin
  • St. Barts
  • British Virgin Islands
  • Florida

This fund will ensure that these areas are not forgotten, and will provide relief to survivors through the networks of internationally recognized and vetted charities active in these areas.

All donations to this fund will exclusively support relief and recovery efforts for Hurricane Irma.

The Solution

All donations to this fund will support relief efforts for Hurricane Irma and Maria. The fund's initial focus will be immediate needs for survivors such as food, clean water, fuel, and shelter. After initial relief has been provided, remaining funds will be used to support long-term recovery efforts in conjunction with local vetted organizations in those countries, including but not limited to SOS Children's Villages, and the David Ortiz Children's Fund.

Long Term Impact

All funds raised will adhere to the reporting standards of the i am action platform which have been instituted to protect the donors and the intended recipients:

  • Unlike other crowdfunding platforms, i am action 100% ensures that the money goes straight to those in need
  • i am action will follow up on how the money is spent with stories, photos, and impact numbers published online for all donors to see
  • i am action vets all charities before allowing them to fundraise on the platform, and regular updates are required to keep the charity on our platform in good standing
